Day 31 - July 12th
Onward and upward, north that is. We took the scenic drive north out of Santa Fe this morning and was not disappointed. The scenery changed continually.
Stopped in Aztec, NM and went through the Aztec ruins which is really not Aztec but Pueblo People Ruins. The man that discovered them missed named them and it stuck. They are also not on a side of a mountain which "I" thought they were.
It was very hot!
Scenery continues to change which I love
Into "Colorful" Colorado
Thank God! Finally some green, I don't require a lot but I do like it. And mountain ranges
Wilbur thought he had it made after crossing the Continental Divide in NM at 7150 ft, but then along comes Hwy 160 in CO with 8350 ft. Thank goodness for 3rd gear. Spent the night across from Mesa Verda National Park and it was a beautiful evening and setting. We were able to sit outside and not be drenched in perspiration or swarmed by bugs.
Another day in the life of Wilbur and his companions.
Joey, You'll be happy to know I escaped this bird attack It was friendlyπ
