Day 20... July 1st (warning lots of pictures)

Louisiana... after leaving Baton Rouge we stopped at a Walmart for gas and picked up a few groceries

This one is called a "Neighborhood Market". You can tell because it is green.  Then on to New Orleans. The drive was fascinating. Everything in every direction is flat. Most the highways are bordered by swamp or sugar cane fields. The oil refineries are huge

This doesn't begin to show the size. I could have taken numerous pictures down both sides of the highway. The only things off the ground are man made structures. This is several layers of highway overpasses.

Driving into downtown looked pretty much like any other city that is built on flat land.

The cemeteries are "different" then any other cemeteries I've seen. A high wall with above ground graves that appear to be little houses. Tomorrow I might have to walk around the wall to take a picture.

Then driving down the driveway to the WAY too expensive RV Park

The wall was similar to the cemetery wall only newer with barbs sticking out the top. End result: Wilbur is snug as a bug in a rug

It is a nice campground with security gates and security codes to get in and out... even walking...  So off we go walking to the French Quarter and the Mississippi River in 90 degree temperatures with 60% humidity. We felt the heat...pictures from our walk

Pictures from the river. We watched several ships and barges go by and there is quite a bend in the river.

We ate: beans, rice, oysters and fries

While we listened to music (it was great!)

And then walked back and sat and listened to more music

Very interesting instrument. He had it strapped on, held on to it with handles and played it with his thumbs and forefingers. It had about 30 strings on it and sounded like a harp. Oh and I have to include the police smart car

As we continued our walk back a block before leaving town there was a gathering of strange people, Some in super hero costumes. One guy had a big iguana on the top of his head and an albino snake (a larger kind) hanging around his arm😦. I had to take Bob back and show him because he missed it!!!!
