Days 11 and 12
Let's just put these days together. I must start with grousing about the humidity, you always feel sticky, always. Guess I'll live. The sad realization, I am becoming (maybe have been) my mother. The air conditioning feels amazing but freezes my back, so I had to buy grandkids t-shirts so I could put one on my back. Yesterday (Thursday) was nice. Sun shining with clouds and a breeze. I walked around downtown during the day. The traffic and pedestrians are well managed. You can move between blocks using over head walk ways.
This one covered the whole intersection with a glass dome on top. They, of course, have a combination of old, the repertory theater
And new, The NFL (Colts) stadium which is huge (covers many blocks as does the convention center)
Indianapolis has more land devoted to veterans than any other American city. This monument was in the middle of a traffic circle.
The city reminds me a lot of Portland maybe a little better planned out and traffic doesn't seem to be a problem.
Last evening the Assembly had a worship service that EVERYONE (between 2-3000) attended. There were several lauguages involved. Probably one of the biggest events I've attended. It was very interesting and the music was good.
Today is rain and more rain! Could still be humid but it is not cold, even the wet is not cold until you get in the air conditioning 😐. We plan to be back on the road tomorrow.
