Day 13 - Saturday, June 24th,
We had planned an early morning departure but had to say bye to our campground neighbors, Larry and Becky, from Oregon. Then we were on the road to return the rental by 11:58am and discovered Wilbur's headlight was out. Enterprise was right next door to Auto Zone, not a problem. Bob had it changed and we were on the road in a matter of minutes. We are headed to Kentucky via Hwy 74. Well don't you know that road goes through Ohio, back to Indiana, and then into Kentucky. Wilbur officially rolled his wheels in Ohioπ. Here's the Ohio River to prove it
You know it's the Ohio because it is big and muddy. Makes me appriecate our rivers in Oregon. Maybe not all the rivers out here are muddy but all of them we've seen are, even the Whitewater River.
Spent the afternoon at the creation museum. Bob says, "The Creation Museum is a great presentation of the Biblical account of God's creation. We were impressed by the many and varied types of displays. Definitely a 'must see' if you're in this part of the country!" They also had beautiful grounds which had lots of muddy water.
On to Dry Ridge, Kentucky and Walmart π. We couldn't figure out why the parking lot was so full until we went for a walk and discovered the "Rockin the Ridge Festival" so we got to listen to the country music group, Colt Ford, sing songs like: 'There ain't no trash in my trailer' and 'Time flys when you're having rum'
The crowd was a interesting mix to say the least.
Tomorrow we're off to see the replica of Noah's Ark. Festival fireworks should start in just a few minutes... π
